So over the last few months my motivation for school has dropped almost completely purely because I only got 1 subject I selected. I was given a heap of subjects that have no meaning to me and will contribute bugger all to anything I'm remotely interested in doing in life after school.
I've received an N award for Physics (Which I didn't choose and went and personally spoke to the principle and deputy about but was still denied changing subjects, mind you this is within a few days of being told what subjects I was doing in Yr11 & 12.)
I also received an N award warning for construction (also lack any interest in the subject due to the 98% OH&S mindset that the subject forces down your throat and the minimal practical experience or training it provides.)
Now at this point most of you are probably telling me i'm a little shit or to pull my head in or that all subjects will be needed for me in the long run or the classic (don't close doors which may need to be opened further along.) arguement.
I'm really interested in the ADF and Combat Engineering/EOD in particular, i'm part way through an application. I attended the YOU session and aced the Aptitude tests getting a 95% job opportunities list. (I can apply for any job from pilot to rifleman to electronic warfare analyst etc.) I fulfilled every box and passed the medical but was knocked back on not having a pass in english last year (missed out by 3 percent) because I slacked off last year with a naive attitude. at the moment the only thing holding me back is English until I get to the end of this year and can join the ADF (with a pass), in the meantime i'm stuck with a whole bunch of dead end subjects with loads of assignments and work which would be easy enough if I set my mind to it but simply can't due to the lack of interest. Does anyone have any tips which could possibly help me become motivated and maintain that motivation until I can break away from school and start making tracks in life and a career in the ADF.
