are there any special deals for uni students where they can get loans with low interest rates to cover things like accomodation, transport etc.?
When I was at MQ a while back some guy was telling me about something like that. I wish I had paid attention...

There is one that NBA offers, you don't make any repayments until AFTER you finish your degree, go to the website or contact by phone and they'll tell you everything about it. It's minimum 5,000 max 20,000.

Yes have at look at centrelinks youth allowance.

They offer full time students something like $220 a fortnight and allow them to earn up to the same amount with out reducing the handout.

They also offer accommodation assistance and other things.

This is this case, but when you think about it only being able to earn 220/fortnight w/o losing any isnt much at all. It means you can only work like 7hrs/week (provided you earn ~15/hr). So in the end centrelink = sucky

If you earn more than the 220/fortnight, it doesn't mean your centrelink is cut, they just take that extra money out of the income bank. You have a max of 6k so it should be awhile until that runs oiut..
