Or for study in general. Seriously... nobody shuts up in there...
Hang my head in shame...

Oh no, that's not me! lol

Yeah, I reckon it's always best to go to libraries where we can actually find a decent private room to study in.

Ahh sorry for not playing much of a role in this convo, i've been really busy these past few days... ><

I would prefer to go to the library during the weekend rather than weekdays.

With that said I don't think it would be that awkward meeting each other for the first time.

I do admit that meeting people for the first time is a tad bit awkward but we all have the same goal in mind so we will probably forget about it once we get into studying.

you'll have to get in Parramatta Library early cuz it's usually packed.
I'm always at parrra library on Saturdays but can never get a table :( sucks.
I usually end up studying at the kiddy tables downstairs.

You'd probably be more concerned about hiding yourself than actually working. :p

So I have got a certain script to follow? lol

Anyway, are you sure that you went to the right library? There are many uni libraries...

I was at Parra library - well - as I said before - I'm always there on a Saturday - so not much difference.

I'm the asian guy with the bright red world youth day bag and the guy wearing black jeans and chucks. Shouldn't be too hard to notice.

Do you guys know what's going to be the best?

I reckon we need someone to organise this. Like this for example:

Hi, I am Namu Lyoo. I am going to be doing HSC in 2009 and I am doing the subjects as follow: 4 unit maths, 2 unit english, 2 unit biology, 2 unit Business Studies, 2 unit Cosmology (if I get in) and 1 unit SOR I.

So if you are doing subjects that are somewhat similar to mine, we can organise it. I don't see any point in making a study group with people who haven't got much similarity in terms of subjects.

My strengths are Maths, Business Studies and SOR I . I can help you with any of the subjects with confidence but I will probably need some help in return for other subjects if you are doing any.

I don't have any weaknesses as such but I am not very confident in helping you with some certain subjects, so if you can help me with that - it will be great.

I can travel to any location given that it is within 20 km radius from my current residence. My preferred locations are Hornsby Library, Chatswood Library, State Library, any Pennant Hills, Epping L, Berowra L, Strathfield L or any uni libraries that I can access.

During our meeting, we will engage in note-sharing, explanation of topics, exam paper sharing and other things that normal studying will probably involve. However, in order to ensure the effectiveness of this study group, we shall take a turn for each person to teach others what they know and let others listen. If you have got your own notes and if they are great, we can also photocopy at the library which will cost few dollars that all of your should bring just in case.

To sum it up:
  • there will be someone to teach the whole group and others listen
  • i don't think group should have 5+ people. It's just too much
  • bringing coins for photocopying is good
  • some exam tips and studying tips can be shared
  • location can be discussed but library with private room will be great
  • all members should have some similar subjects
  • all members should be contributing (whether it is in teaching, note-sharing, talking about tips and etc)
  • all study group meetings should take place on weekends - just easy that way
  • and yeah, that's pretty much everything...
