i usually do 4-5 hours on school nights. 7 hrs+ on holidays/weekends (if i stay at home)

No offense people - but I'm just wondering if you guys get -any- homework. I wonder how you do 4-5 on a school night. Let me run through a typical schedule on a Monday night.
3.20 - School finishes
3.20-3.30 - mooch around at school, talking to friends and stuff
3.30-4.30 - Volleyball training
4.30-5.30 - getting home
6 - tutor
8.30 - 11 - doing my homework that's due either the next day, or soon thereafter

Then on Wednesdays, when I don't have tutor, timetable is like:
2.45- School finishes
2.45-3.30 - Volleyball training
3.30-3.45 - mooching around at school
3.45-4.40ish - getting home
4.45 - shower
5 - dinner
6 - start doing homework
About 11, I will usually finish.

And on weekends, we usually get an essay or creative for English to do, either Advanced or Extension, a Chem prac, a Chem research task, a bunch of Maths 'exercises' (which will take about 4 hours to complete) and every three weeks or so, a Phys prac or Legal assignment.

How is there anytime to -study-?

Qft I'd like to know as well. I always thought I spent too much doing homework and assignments. I don't seem to manage to get any hours to study during school weekdays, but rather, just getting the usual homework and tasks done. I thought my school fed us with homework too much, but considering it takes Aerath 2-4 hours to complete his homework, we're in the same situation.

How is there anytime to study? As in, write notes? Recite notes? Skim through them?

My answer: I don't do homework. Only homework I do are Mathematics & Mathematics Extension 1 homework and English homework. I don't care about other subjects' homeworks. It's not like teachers check them. Teachers usually check everyone's except mine because I always sit in front of the class proudly showing something in front of him/her (which is not a homework but my teacher thinks it is, no questions asked, just ticked "homework done" next to my name)

i have done every single piece of homework ever. I think it was one time i didn't do a maths exercise cause i just didn't feel like it.

Earlier i said i study up to 2 hours a day because i study usually 1 hour a day and 2 hours if i finish school early.

i agree with aerath back when i was in year 7,8 and 9. i was thinking what are the teachers talking about.. ??how are we supposed to study when we constantly bombarded with homework, assignments, research tasks etc.

even this year i have only found time for just 1 hour to study a school day.

I reckon I should stop doing homework for abit and concentrate on notes and stuff. Namu, what do you do with all the sheets that the teacher gives out as homework? Do you just file it away or chuck them in the bin, because some of them have useful contents/explanations in them.

When teachers give info sheets, I put them in my notes. If they are question papers, I read them and if I think they are rubbish, I chuck them out.

Yea i dont have time to study because of the overload in homework. But im happy to see that im not the only one who finds it hard to study. Occasionally i might do 1-2 hrs if i can or else i study a 3-4 days before an exam

Im surprised you put in that much time in for yr 11 and do you think you'll be able to continue your study pattern for the next yr and a bit.

yes i will be able to thats pretty similar to last years the only thing that has changed really in thursdays. Wednesdays had more study though.
