i've gone through and printed out all the section two questions since 1999 and looked at simialar questions that reoccur each year...

eg. in the conceptual framework there is always a question that deals with how:
-the world impacts on the subject matter and meaning of the art work
-the artworks intention changes as time changes [in different contexts an artwork's meaning can change to reflect the feelings of the art world/world at large]
-world events can alter and artist intended subject matter

...then i'm making notes about one or two artists that fit and two or three artworks that fit my home made rubricy thing. That way i haven't learnt an essay that may not fit and make me all flustered in the exam.

eg. in relation to the conceptual framework question as above so far i have done guernica:
-picasso changed the subject matter as a result of the guernica bombings
-the popular question of whether guernica is an effective political tool is what links it between its origninal world and the modern world
-its statement about the power of technology is incrasingly more relevent to todays society and culture as we are in the midst of the "technological revolution"
-specifically refering to changing contexts ability to change an artworks meaning to reflect the feelings of the art worls/world at large : the UN covered up thier replica tapestry of guernica when Colin Powell (then US secretery of state) presented the american case for the war against Iraq

and henry moore
-he used his memories of the war and his circumstance as subject matter for drawings and his sculptures, but didn't use them to create amazing statments about war...

anyway
i'm really interested to see how other people are studying for art as its abit of a difficult subject to study for!

I only just decided to study for art and pull out all the stuff we did before we started our BOW. Our trials are in a week! im scared!

i was thinking the same as you, there is so many questions to pick from in the exam that they kind of have to be repeated each year in some form..I was thinking two artists and three artworks each.. and then a extra artist on the side just incase.

I'm not good at all with extending my essays though, all the top marks ive seen from my teacher come from 9 pages plus answers. I'm lucky to write 4, my hand just hurts to much. I guess ill have to do some workouts with my hand hehe to get it all warmed up!

Do you think that i should choose artists that have the same ideas incommon or should i pick ones totally different from each other incase i have to cover a different aspect. So far i was thinking of Cindy Sherman, Stelarc, Patricia Piccinini and keith Haring, have you studyed any of those?

ive done mine... omg section one was TERRIBLE!!!

i ended up doing guernica - obviously... warhol sort of... and the feminist movment in art which meant i talked about three female artists including the guerilla girls and some of thier artworks...

i chose the question... "Artists often say what would otherwise remain unsaid" so it all worked :) for section two anyways :(

with the prepared essay thing. thats what i was going to do, but i found that i knew enough about artists and a few artworks that i could answer the question without much difficulty. If you make sure your prep essay covers alot of artists and artworks then maybe you'll be able to mould it - theres no harm in trying

lol, 14.5 HSC booklet pages!!! which is really not much.... esp when you're desperately scrawling so you can get in alll the info in your head.... seriously its like, not that much. normally, i am HONESTLY the slowest writer there is.... in other classes i cant keep up with dictations.... but in the art exam... i dunno what happens.... like a tranformation takes place or something lol... its really like, not that much... my friend wrote 21 pages, and he has small writing too... i think its just cos we're that damn passionate about the subject and for on subject at least, have THAT much info that we wanna write... thats all

no its because you have issues... a subscription even... and you need a neuro surgeon.
omg, i love art... but the brain still can't will the art to move as fast as it thinks ....and the arm can't will the brain to think as fast as it writes... depending on the situation
