Basically I wasn't able to learn much of the concepts in 4u until I started tutoring last term ...
Is there any way I can study effectively for trials which is a month away?

try and do as many exercises and past papers as you possibly can.

with past papers what are some easy ones that I should start off with?

idk if you go to spiral's dropbox or nerdasdasd's skyrdrive, just choose past papers and pick out the easy questions if you want easy Q's. alternatively you could do the questions in cambridge.
