Stupid Linear Functions (1 Viewer)

Linear Functions and I do not get along very well and I had a few problems studying for a test. The simpliest of all Linear: Finding the Linear Function from tables. I get myself a little confused alot so could someone help me out.

The problem:

x 12 20 36 44 60
y 15 17 21 23 27

y= mx+b

I fine with pretty much everything else linear which to me makes no sense at all because isn't this meant to be the easiest part anyway?

you can just take 2 points out of the box...
just make point A(12,15) and B(20, 17)
now use the gradient formula to find the gradient... then use either A or B and use the point gradient formula

so gradient=17-15/20-12
=2/8
=1/4

lets just use point A
y-15=(1/4)(x-12)
y=x/4 + 12
EDIT: sorry didnt realise this was in general maths... do you use thsoe firmulas in general maths???

Wow that helped alot more its all slowly coming back to me. And I think we use a similar formula except maybe simplier but i don't think it matters too much aslong as the working out is right i'll do fine.

OMG.... >.< nothing personal, but i think if people are struggling with general maths they should drop it or even do applied.
basically if you achieve below 90 you WILL be scaled down. the end.
