Hey BOSers :)..

May you please help me on one thing!!.

Atm im signing up for UAC.

How do bonus points for subjects work, do you have to apply for them once you get your results or are they automatically added through your application in uac for your preferences?????

Bonus points are automatically added to your ATAR. No need to apply for them.

Just to help clarify. There are NO bonus points given in your ATAR on the computer at home. The bonus points gets added to your ATAR by universities.

As unknown88 said, bonus points on your ATAR are not arbitrary. For example, the certificate you get from UAC that has your ATAR (say 93.55), does not get 5 bonus ATAR points added on. Your certificate will say 93.55. If you choose to put your ATAR on your resume you should say 93.55. If you choose to put your ATAR on scholarship applications, you should say 93.55 (putting 98.55 would be misleading, because you didn't get 99.85 - however, I would write a caveat).

However, when UAC considers you for course applications and entry into university -they- will take your ATAR as 98.55.

You may also want to look at Macquarie's Bonus Points Calculator to see how many points you may be eligible for. (Note this is the Academic Advantage scheme, you need to score a minimum ATAR of 72.55 to be eligible for points)
