Well obviously this depends most of all on how well you think you can do in both these subjects, how much you like them, and how useful they will be for your future vocational plans. Both of these subjects will scale reasonably well if you can put decent effort into in them.

That said, the UAC website posts several documents about the scaling of various subjects in the HSC.

http://www.uac.edu.au/pubs/pdf/2007_table_A3.pdf

This one shows that in the 2007 HSC, the average scaled mark for Biology was ever so slightly higher than the average scaled mark for Geography. (26.9 compared to 25.7)It also shows that a similar HSC mark in both subjects would have corresponded to a slightly better scaled UAC mark for Biology (a 36.8/50 became scaled 26.9 in Biology, while a 38.6/50 in Geo became 25.7 scaled). However, this is so close that there's basically nothing in it. And remember that this will change every year based on how well the cohort of Biology or Geography students will do compared to other subjects.

They are both pretty close so maybe you shouldn't worry too much about the scaling.
Which one do you like better? And which one are you doing better in?

all subjects scale down except for maths extensions and maybe some languages, its just how much they scale down for the rest. so the subjects e.g. phys chem dont scale down that much compared to others

If you do well, you will scale up, if you don't do well, you will scale down, regardless of what subject you are doing.

So just do well. :D

not by hsc, by uac, don't worry. The HSC marks in the table correspond to the actual marks you will see on your transcript - ie. the mark and band you got in that subject. The UAC "scaled marks" are number not shown to anyone except to the UAC. They are used for no other purpose than to determine your UAI. It does not that mean that if, for instance, you get a raw mark(ie. exam percentage) of 36/50 for Biology that this will be scaled down to a 26 for your HSC mark. The scaled marks are simply numerical aids used by the UAC

ur raw mark gets aligned and then that gets scaled.

That's why if you do crap in school assessments and you get an average rank, you have no hope.
