Syd vs. NSW (1 Viewer)

I'm unsure of which uni to go to.... Sydney or New South Wales...

Which one's better and why???

I wanna do Environmental science btw...

UNSW is better

UNSW is definately better. its more well established and has a good reputation, specially for all science courses. you can look up the websites for both universities.
UNSW: http://www.unsw.edu.au
Uni Sydney: http://www.usyd.edu.au
that will tell you more about the uni's, the facilities they have, the variety and the costs an stuff. the best is to just keep asking around and try and go and find out for urself! try and go to the open days as well...you can ask questions and actually go and see the lecture halls an stuff

Thank you for your help. Yeah, I have heard ppl say that NSW is better for science but the thing is it's quite far away from me... also I'm quite familiar with Sydney Uni....
I don't know... it's a tough decision to make. At least I guess I've sorted out what course I want to do. Most of my friends still have no clue.

I'll definitely go to the Open Days.... I've been onto their websites and of course each Uni's going to say it's good, and they're not going to say "we're not so strong in this area..."

UNSW appears to have more for the Enviro/Geog based courses...

That's based on the cds that they sent out last year (after my preferences were put in).

Usyd only sent out letters.

The reasons why I'm not doing Environmental Science a UNSW:
1. Sydney is closer
2. Getting a Bsc/Ba rather than a single degree made sense to me at the time.

I bought the good university guide the other day and from the looks of it UNSW was better for Science in terms of employment after uni.

Only 8% of people were unemployed after leaving, where as sydney had something like 25% (from memory).

But sydney has the prestige, its the oldest, nice grounds, looks gothic, etc. The only way to choose properly is to go there for yourself on open days.

UNSW's Media and Communications course is mainly on multimedia whereas UTS concentrates on print media and journalism.....
so it really depends on what type of Media u would like to do.......
i'm trying to transfer into MEdia as well..... i dun care which uni, as long as i don't do B Arts for the rest of my life......

Generally speakin NSW is better, better rep etc
Syd grounds suck dick! NSW is much nicer, i h8 Syd its a old shithole
UTS is really good for like comps and biz
Overall depnds on wat course but id choose NSW
