Me and two other friends are heading to Sydney for FODI, uni-viewing and a general vacation.

Any cool bars we could frequent for the weekend?

We just want something laid back/alternative/maybe gay friendly (two out of three are raging homos)

Suggestions would be rad shanks.

small bars like 'ching-a-lings' might be too, although i'm not 100% sure

There are a heap of places in Newtown where you could go out.

If you're desperate for a boozing weekend away from the rents or whatever, just buy your own.

Bar 333 on george street is not bad for a laid back hangout, and upstairs is kinda clubby, so its got abit of everything

Slip inn is recommended too

we were like, fuk, we spent like 30 bucks on a cab to take us there then we couldnt get in so we had to walk all the way to soho... in heels

Still, I don't think with an under-18er we'll be going too crazy.
We're staying with a bunch of freegans from couchsurfing so they should be able to give us some hot tips, or they might even have a house party woot woot.

But yea cool. And I'll keep these places in mind for when I next head Sydney-ward.

as far as uni bars go, manning bar (usyd) is better than glasshouse. though the pool tables do make up for it. wouldn't bother with either unsw or mq

Oh btw I went to Sydney. It was fun. Went to a house party. Only went to one bar, which was Zanzibar, which is a dyke bar, which was ... fun.
