why didn't you apply for sancta sophia?

bahah college would be a great place to live, but some of their reputations... quite funny....

Pauls is my pick, if you're a rich bloke... and probably womens if you're a chick

Well, I'm not a bloke so Paulie's is out. I put women's as my second pref (I don't know how I could handle all girls all the time, I'm a co-ed girl) And Wesley is good for Aggies like me and seems alot more fun than the others. Oh and I'm not a fan of catholics so that's sancta's out as well.

lol whats an aggies?

from what I have gathered (have you visited the colleges?)

wesley - cheaper, crappier college. has resident dog that runs around and rubbish tips around the place. the environment and visual possibly not as good but I think the people compensate. they seem to have good live bands there playing.

womens - pretentious

sancta - sluts. funny joke (never to be repeated) they are building a brothel next door to that college, and all the guys are like, "now we have to pay for it?!"

andrews - although they have made it co-ed, the girls haven't tamed the guys down. they are notorious for the practical jokes and nudie runs across campus.... last party I heard they had (and they have a lot) was a "porn star" party.

lol, I'm sorry but I find it funny that you don't know what an "Aggie" is. Basically just a cowboy/girl type person - into B&S's, utes and that sort of thing,

Hmmm, I have visited the colleges, but being a person that lives out of sydney I don't get all the goss on what goes on and all the different reputations. So thanks for that ! But I'm still keen on Wesley, but Andrew's sounds alright now as well!

I have my interviews on monday!!!

oi ezmay, question.............
how long after you sent in your applications to college did they get back to you re interviews? I'm shitting myself at the moment cause i only sent in my app forms last week and my friend has already gotten into andrews! @#$%! Are you in yet? What did they ask in your interviews? I put down johns, andrews, and wesley. I'm like you, i want to escape that whole 'single sex' private school thing. It's too pretentious and really, too boring. Thanks for ya help........... and fancy these city people not knowing what an aggie is....... they have sooo much to learn about their own country, and the funny thing is that they consider themselves worldly, cultured, intelligent - too good for unis other than sydney or nsw. COUNTRY RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Firstly, it is just soo bloody brilliant to find someone who is in the same situation as me! No one I know is going to Sydney - they all have faith in Uni's on the otherside of the blue mountains!

Don't worry about only just getting your application in cause they are holding interviews through January. If I was you give them and ring and make an appointment. Tina - the person in charge of addmissions at wesley is really lovely (mother type!)

I have been made an offer at St Andrews and I should also be offered a place at Wesley. But I have to accept by the 20th of December.

Ummm, interviews. Wesley was a fairly normal interview. There was the Rev who was really nice and a senior student (he was an aggie so that was good!)

At St Andrews I'd met the principal before at a careers day and he's also a Vet lecturer and a total Aggie. Just get him talking about farming and the like and you'll be in!

I heard that St Johns is really heaps catholic, but if you're into that sort of thing ....

Anyhow good luck, what courses are you applying for?

Hey did you go to Moree high - cause our new deputy principal comes from there, Steve Harvey?

G'day!
Thanks for all your advice bro, it's awesome you're in! Where do you think you'll accept? Did you get an interview with Women's? My friend had one there and apparently the head lady asks them 'Why do you think you're privileged enough to come to Women's?'........Well darlin, what I want is a bed and if you can give one to me, great!
The reason why I put down St Johns is cause heaps of gals from my school have put down for Wesley and Drews, and i just thought I'd go somewhere different. The guy from Andrews does sound really nice, and so does Tina from Wesley. I haven't heard from Johns yet!!! I'm not catholic, i hope that they're not too religious; I don't think I could handle compulsory church or communion all the time! I went to a catholic primary school, and the non-catholics had to sit up the back and watch them all get confirmed, and take the bread. Oh well. All I want is a bed!
I'm from Moree but I didn't go to high school there, I'm not surprised your new deputy principal left it! It's pretty well a hole, but a friendly one at that. It's been a bastard trying to get a job here, I've been everywhere, but cause of this friggin drought there ain't much goin round.
How's cargo......err where is Cargo? In the Blue Mountains? I'm not that familiar with that part of NSW
:D

Oh yeah, and the courses applying for:
1. BA/LLB - but I'm dreaming!
2. Media and Communications
3. Arts (languages)
4. Arts
I will most likely be doing arts, and then hopefully (fingers crossed) I will be able to transfer into the combined arts/law degree at the end of first year!
You???????????????????????????

You can still be an aggie without being enrolled in Ag Science. It's just that heaps of aggies do ag science.

Hey Jerry, (really that is such a bloody brilliant show!)

I totally agree with the whole work thing! It is soo hard to get anything especially when everyone else is trying to do the same thing! And nobody wants people like me with no experience. So Ive been marking out a new vineyard for chicken feed! As well as working for the hardest boss in the world, my dad!

Ive done a bar course so hopefully that might get me something, but then again I dont have any bloody experience! It really shits me, my friend who is the same age, left school at the end of year 10 and has just been offered a manager position at a vineyard - yet here I am going to uni!

Ohhh and cargo is near Orange. So Im in the central west, out in the sticks but not as far as you. And cargo is going pretty good, although I did blink last time I went through so I missed out on what was happening.

I did apply to go to womens but I just think they are way too .. I dunno, pretentious I guess. They werent going to offer me an interview because I didnt put them as my first preference. They changed their mind however when they looked at my application - talk about bloody double standards! Also I think I would go mad around females all day! I know us chicks are bloody brill, but it is just un natural from grown people to live in a single sex environment!

My mum was talking to a guy whod just been to an interview at Johns, he said he didnt like it because it was too religious.

I still rekon you should still apply for Wesley and drews, those girls from your school might not even get in. I wouldnt let other people interfere with what I wanted to do. I dont know anyone going to USYD next year so Im going to be just a little scared for a while a guess.

My Preferences are:

1) Vet Science (as if)
2) Animal Science
3) Ag Science
4) Science

Like you I prob won't get my first pref but am hoping to cross over, but I need to get heaps of destinctions or something ridiculous!

So where did you go to school at?

No I didn't go to Kinross, but I have friends that did - but no I don't know John West. Poor old me had to settle for a public school. Actually mum and dad let me choose between kinross and where I was at for Yr's 11 & 12 but I thought where I was at was pretty darn good - and I think I was right.

Actually I think I would rather stay in the country rather than go to USYD. I guess I like the courses they have to offer more. The courses allow you to go in so many more directions than what I've seen at armidale and wagga. I am a little scarred about all these "city" people (not that there is anything wrong with them) - but from what I hear there will be tonnes of people from the country so it won't really be a prob. And hey, we get to come back for the hols to see everyone anyhow!

re. accom at UNSW - I honestly know no one (and I mean _no one_!) who went to UNSW and yet I still got early acceptance into Basser - and I'm a country student (go the rurals!). I also got into Andrews, so I might see you there Ezmay!

I'm from Coffs Harbour, and am wondering how colleges can deny students (who live more than 500km from the city of sydney) who are good academically as well as sport (such as myself) :)

Also I'm wondering do you get any free time in college to actually get off the campus and navigate around sydney? :D
