What do you mean 'advanced science'? Do you mean like an honours year?

You can apply for graduate medicine immediately after completing your B Medical Science.

After BMedSci, it'll be another 4 years with the MBBS, then an internship year, maybe another year as a Registrar after that, and then anywhere up to 9 years further study after you've decided what kind of doctor you want to be (eg. GP, surgeon, oncologist, neurologist, psychiatrist etc).

It's not as bad as it sounds. You start earning a good salary from your internship year and all the way through your specialist studies after that.

After you complete your BMedSci, you apply to do the graduate medical school test, GAMSAT, if you do well and you have a good academic result from your BMedSci, you'll be asked to an interview at the university you applied to.

that'll take quite a while so make sure you know MBBS is what you want and you are willing to put in the time and effort to get there. 2 yrs tafe + 3 yrs (or 4 for honours) undergrad med science deg + 4 years MBBS grad entry + 2 minimum intern and residency + 3 years minimum specialist training. while you start earning money in the last 5 years that's still ~15 years till you are fully qualified, and that's on the assumption that everything goes smoothly with TAFE > med science as well as getting the required scores in GAMSAT + interview.
