I am currently on UWS' website having a look at the Criminology units. If, under "Teaching Periods" it says "Nothing on offer" does that mean that this unit cannot be studied?

Thanks.

i would hazard a guess at that they have yet to update the site, but usually they would show when the unit is available to study, e.g. Autumn, spring, summer etc. But if it does nto show up, than yes, it cannt be studied as it is not offered, i think its best to ask teh student administration after the holidays of course about it as they may have mre up to date info about the unit is question. If you check whether the unit is current or not, it might give you a good indication as well [usually shown near the title of the unit]

hope it helps.

hypertrophy - ALL core units will be on offer in semesters when relevant - there's no point in altering their suggested course structure since its intended to match with when units are offered..

some electives may not be offered all the time due to teachers available, numbers who want to do the unit etc - but- as you intend to do Law/Criminology - all that's irrelevant as you don't get to choose electives in your non-law degree

so i woudn't worry about it

you do get to pick... but what i meant was - don't worry about it now as you don't pick in 1st semester from what i understand... as you do core units first generally so core units will ALWAYS be offered at the point when they recommend you undertake them so you will definitely be able to enrol in classes for those units.

plus - certain units have pre/co req's - so you can't do them 1st year anyways so whether or not they are offered is irrelevant - 1st year- you shouldn't have any problems getting the classes you need... later on you may need to worry about it but that wno't be for quite a while:)

the units you pick aren't 'electives' as such as you are more choosing units in the social science sphere whic are criminology units so they're not really electives.... its kind of the same as say, business units - technically, i am doing 'selected' units to correspond with HRM and IR majors but the uni has alreday selected nearly all of these for us to match this field, rather than just enrolling us in 'business" and then making us figure it out...

we do have one elective but you usually don't for combined degrees since law is sort of your 'main' degree

butyeah - don't worry about it:) all that stuff doesn't really matter til 2nd year at least:)
