If I recall correctly, it's because as distance from the centre of mass of the object increases gravitational potential energy increases, yet at an infinite distance gravitation potential energy is zero, therefore as distance < infinity, Potential energy must be less than zero, hence negative.
Correct.

Okay starting off easy:
Type IIA and type IIB string theory are known to be connected by T-Duality, whereby a description of a circle with radius r in type IIA string theory is exactly the same as the IIB description of a circle with radius r, with distances measured in units of planck length. What is the significance of this correlation? and how can this be applied in manifold reduced problem solving in supergravity theory?

Galilean principle of relativity states that all inertial motions are relative and cannot be detected without a reference from an outside point.

Einstein's than proposed the theory of special theory of relativity which postulated that Galilean laws of physics holds and the speed of light is constant in any frame of reference. However, although tests such as Michelson and Morley's experiment verified that the speed of light is indeed constant, there was still little information regarding such revolutionary idea and many scientist had to test it in order to say it was true.


Einstein's proposition of the constancy of speed of light led to the notion of space and time becoming relative. In order for the speed to be constant, time must be dilated or length must be contracted.

What are the two postulates by Einstein about the principle of relativity?
1. Galileans laws of physics holds true. That all inertial motions are relative or something.
2. Speed of light is constant in any frame of reference.
