Hi

I was doing a practice paper for Music2 and it asked me to "describe the interaction of layers in this excerpt".
What kind of stuff should I talk about here??? I have no idea.

you could talk about how the texture is structured thus displaying its interaction. Also talk about particularly dynamics, rhythm and pitch through texture. The various layers of instruments interact through all the concepts but i think these would probably be the biggest.

you can talk about what role each part plays...
melodic layer? rhythmic layer? creating rhythmic complexity? harmonic layer? bass line? pedal point? etc...

interaction... hmm, is there any sort of question and answer pattern? ostinato or motif passed through the layers? dynamics shared by layers... or contrasting? any layers played in contrary/similar motion to each other... i dunno, any bs really
