Don't you think that they are inherently different in their nature?

Euthanizing that whale was in the interest of that particular animal with careful consideration for the specifics of that particular case.
japanaese whaling happens on a commercial scale, history tells us that whaling is a largely indiscriminant process of killing any whales unfortunate enough to migrate into the path of whaling ships. Guidelines exist, but certain Japanese whalers have already shown us that they have no regard for those guidelines (remember the photo of the young wale being hauled into a japanese 'research ship' last year?).

Does anyone know what the body has been used for? I saw a photo of the whale in the telegraph today with the caption "whale autopsy" or words to that affect. I assume the body will be donated to science or something like that
