I guess the countdown appearing on every page you view would be a bit (too) excessive and rubs it in. I'm sure there would have been complaints from some members last year.

I've set the countdown as the home page so that it can try and scare me into studying. >.< I'm a bit lazy and unmotivated . . . Maybe the days ticking down will help.
