The Hobbit was one of the first fantasy books I've read. Very good, though Tolkien does take a lot of concentration to read.

i remember just after OoTP came out, when people asked about the thestrals, she said that harry couldn't see them before, even after he'd seen cedric die (and was on his way back to the hogwarts express) because he needed time to "dwell on it" first

as for LoTR, i read about a quarter of the first book and then gave up

Another crazy HBP theory by me:
Since there is no royal family of wizards, what if this Half Blood Prince is actually Prince Harry?
He has red hair, he could be Ron's half brother. :uhhuh:
Then since the royals want to shut them up, they give Ron's family lots of money, they become richer than the Malfoys, who become very jealous. The End.
