Where the hell is there notes on Summer of The Seventeenth Doll? UGH! I really don't CARE about Olive, Roo, Barney, Pearl and the rest of them.. but I need notes on them. BAH!

Also, The Zoo Story. Any analysis' online or anything? For EITHER text?

*rips hair out some more*

Trying to find imformation on any drama stuff is bloody hard... The best bet is to ask somebody online if they have any notes they could send you... I'd give you mine, except i finished last year and gave all my notes away (plus they weren't on the computer, they were handwritten)... Sorry...

Oh, no worries! It is DAMN hard to find resources/material relating to these texts. Summer, especially, with it being a popular play and everything, is the one you'd expect to be able to find HEAPS on!

Pissing Board of Studies bullcrap. BAH!

However, in terms of Summer and Mother and Son.. we have to find dramatic techniques within each play. What would you suggest? This could help out several people here who are stuggling.. :D

Setting
Off stage reality
Stage direction
Language
Plot structure
Characterisation
Fourth wall effect

I dunno what to suggest - your best bet is to ask your teacher if you can sit down with them and get them to explain what you don't understand...
What is it that makes a realistic play believable? Details... Look at the detail throughout SoSD, and you will realise why suddenly text on a page becomes believable!

lol We are a bunch of beggers....But a GREAT bunch at it too!

I have the worst assessment task to do on Absurd. I have to pretend I'm a director. *shudders* I don't "pretend" anymore. I used to do that in primary school!!

Darlz... the textbook is out of print! :D... all the rests are actually a little too much for high school drama... like... a lot too much! :) but yeah, if the bos had picked a text that was in FRIGIN PRINT!!!! i wouldnt be in this situation :)... so FRUSTRATED!!!

me too sparky. Dumb Waiter isn't in print, so my dad had to scrounge a photocopy of it from his school.

And sometimes you have to buy the whole friggin series of plays when you only want one measly, ridiculous, ABSURD (pardon the pun) play.

Trying to get books/scripts for drama? Check out the Performing Arts Bookshop in Newtown - their number is (02) 9267 2257... Or just rock on in - they are on Level 3 at 262 Pitt Street in the city... Really good place to get LOTS of "performing arts books" (imagine that - performing arts books at a performing arts bookstore")... This store normally has copies of plays individually - instead of having to buy a trilogy or some shiznit... Hope that helps...
