i got a massive sunburn; my face kinda hurts when i contort it even slightly. i've been looking at customers today in a clint eastwood fashion.

songs highlights, anyone?

sleater-kinney - "let's call it love" seguing into "entertain" *orgasms*
stooges - LIKE, FUCKING EVERYTHING. save for their two new songs.
edan - "rock and roll"
beasts of bourbon - "chase the dragon"
m.i.a. - "bucky done gone"

Kings Of Leon were the highlight for me. Wow! They really blew me away! I always knew they were good but I never realised just how good. They have definitely gone up a few places on my favourite bands list - they're probably now at number two. I was surprised at how perfect and "together" they sounded live (even moreso than the bigger bands like Franz). Haha oh... and Jared makes me so weak at the knees, what with his energetic bass playing and all (and his sexy tight pants).

The White Stripes were a bit anti-climatic for me...but I did see them the night before (they were awesome), and they seem better suited to not such huge and messy outdoor stages. I also thought that the songs they chose to play were kind of....weird. I don't know, there just was something strange about their set. But they were still rather awesome!

Franz were awesome awesome awesome!!!! A couple of songs were not as good as they could have been...but Alex's funny little jig-like dance moves more than made up for any minor glitches :p. Definitely another highlight of the day!

Sarah Blasko is just so lovely. I love her - she makes me want to sing jazz music again.

The Stooges were, of course, quite awesome. Iggy is a crazy man! And I loved how at the end whoever was filming for the big screen kept zeroing in on his butt crack as he walked off the stage. Hahaha.

Errrrrrr I can'r be bothered to write anymore. OMG though, I have to say I got brutally attacked by the sun's rays. I was hardly even in the full sun at all....and I had so much sunscreen on. But, alas, my sensitive British skin does not have a good relationship with that fat ball of fire in the sky. :(

I was also quite dispirited about the fact that I couldn't go into the mosh pit because I'm too small, I was by myself, and I kinda sorta hadn't eaten for two days. It would have been a bit bad if I had died at BDO. That was sadddddd. :(

FUCK YES!

FRONT ROW for Kings of Leon!
FRONT ROW for Franz Ferdinand!
FRONT ROW for The White Stripes!

I also saw...

Wolfmother
Grates
Presets
Gerling

MOST favourite was KINGS OF LEON! Just couldn't stop dancing! (And yes, even being front row i had room to boogie down!)

My only problem was that i was in the barriers for 7 hours straight and i had to pee! Haha, but it was worth it!

I'm sad now that i'm not at the Kings of Leon concert that is going down RIGHT NOW at The Enmore... ahhhhhhh.

Big Day Out rocked.

Mate, I was watching as around 20 guys rushed the fence.
Only about 4 or 5 were successful. the rest got crash tackled by the security guards.

They got their shirts ripped and were smashed against the fence. A few were bleeding afterwards. Police were called to escort them out.

I believe one got smashed against the steel bars.. head suffered a huge incision when we were called to help. ouch!

It was good entertainment for us :D

btw, we had free sunscreen at our 1st Aid post (with a donation tin next to it *wink*)

It's even funnier watching people who try to jump the fence solo. Imagine one lone moron running around in circles being chased by at least 3 security guards as well as about 4 or 5 coppers who materialised out of nowhere. It was like a game of football, except without the ball. Needless to say the guy got owned in a fairly rough looking manner.
