I would be interested to see how many of Kumars runs were scored in the sub continent though?

ere we go:

Mat Runs HS BatAv 100 50 W BB BowlAv 5w Ct St

Career 50 3698 270 48.02 8 18 0 - - 0 119 18
In SL/PAK 31 2113 232 46.95 5 10 0 - - 0 82 17

he's never played a test match in india or bangladesh, so his sub-continent stats are limited to lanka and pak only.

his average away from home is higher than his average on the slow turners on the sub-continent. he must be burning on missing out for this one.

I would of picked Kumar- more on the fact he has kept to Murali rather then any difference between Boucher and Kumar's batting. Should be an enthralling match- hopefully will see the World XI play a lot better though.

Well if it was down to me I'd have picked AB de Villiers
You would pick South Africas back up keeper who has only played about 10 tests to play in the world 11, would might as well picked Geriant Jones, or Carlton Bourgh (or however you spell it)

They picked Pietersen after 8 months in the game.

And no, you wouldn't pick Geraint Jones or Carlton Baugh because they do not have test averages of 56 and they have not taken test wickets AND they are not 21.

I am still trying to understand why Ul-Huq is in the side, he hasn't done much of late at all. Younnis Khan or Chanderpaul have had great years - with high Test averages for '05 and very consistent performances.

there was a reason why inzamam was nominated for player of the year.

his 2005 stats:
Code:
Name Mat I NO Runs HS Ave SR 100 50 Ct St Team
Inzamam-ul-Haq 4 8 2 568 184 94.66 69.52 2 3 1 - PAK (Tests)
Inzamam-ul-Haq 19 18 4 704 74 50.28 90.14 - 8 5 - PAK/ASIA-XI (ODI)

lol will be watching for ur banner

flintoff is just too tired after the ODI's, I think its just the after effects of teh ashes. Harmison was tonnes better today.

It will be interesting to see if the World XI can get off to a good start with Sehwag and Smith. If they do then they can make a good fist of it, otherwise, 6 days won't be required
