i love it how people think "you should have the right to bear arms!"

and then advocate mandatory education on gun use

and then argue on some kind of harm minimisation or human welfare platform to do with concealed carry and personal safety which makes no sense

your right to bear arms should be proportional to the amount of gang violence or organised crime within an arbitrary radius of your residence

australia seems perfectly alright without the right to bear arms, what do you hope to achieve by legalising it? Satisfying some innate gun fetishes that a few people possess?

Like I'm not inherently against it, I just don't see the advantages of it

The government shouldn't invest into an arms policy, money should be spent of military and nuclear weapons

/cease selling uranium to the curries.

It should be mandatory that, if one wishes to own a gun, extensive training be completed at the cost of the applicant.
If John or Jill wants to own a gun I don't see any problem with the idea as long as training and extensive BG checks are completed.

Understood, excuse my ignorance. What exactly is the OP getting at here? Does he mean the right to bear arms without any form of training or license therefore the right to carry a handgun like what exactly, a Swiss knife? No.
Also I believe currently you need solid reason to own a gun in Australia, for example:

security guard
private investigator
farmer
collector
hunter?
