Do any other buses excluding 391, 393 , 395, 891,895.
go past UNSW or somewhere near UNSW ?

I usually see students packing other buses in the morning. FROM EDDY AVENUE

400, 410 is not on Anzac Pd.
392 stops incredibly far past the uni, IIRC.
399 (which I've not listed and I believe stops somewhere near UNSW) stops where 395 (396-397) does.

Stick with lining up/walking. :p
Umm no

391, 392, 393, 394, 395, 396, 397, 399 all stop at Anzac Pde infront of the Uni
and all X- buses don't stop at UNSW, as they don't make any stops between Kingsford and City
You can also catch a 371/372/373/376/377 to Randwick then take a ~3 minute walk to upper campus. Avoid the 374/378.

Can you get good marks by underlining and making margin notes in textbooks?

Highlighting + Notes in textbooks always help. Sometimes it helps you remember where important concepts are when it comes down to revision time.

Also try and make your own notes after each week, it'll make your life a whole lot easier during STUVAC.

I never understand why people highlight.

I was next to this dude in a lecture, he had the lecture slides out and he highlighted every word on every page.....

I don't highlight, i just make NOTES, tons of them.

During the semester i write notes of each subject in a seperate scrap book, then before the final exam i rewrite them again neatly in a tidy book

Advantages : You've written the stuff twice, you're more likely to remember them

Keeps a good reference for further years.

Better than blatantly memorising

I've always been really bad at taking coherent lecture notes.

I do believe in pre-reading, though. I've always found it helpful to read the relevant bits of the textbook before I go to the lecture. Same with tute Qs.

Lecture notes are just summaries. Best to go to the textbooks themselves and make your notes from there, try making notes for Law subjects... *sigh*

However for subjects like Accounting/Micro/Macro/QMA, you'll know what will be in the exam beforehand, so if you've made comprehensive notes of each chapter you've gone through, you're well on your way to getting a D/HD.

if I choose to enrol in 3 courses (6UOC each) instead of the usual 4 for next semester (was thinking of taking a slightly decreased load and stretching my degree out an extra semester), is there anything I need to be aware of? eg, does it affect HECS or do I need to, I don't know, fill out anything etc? (And doing three 6UOC courses is still considered full-time, correct?)

>18UOC = full time

you don't get charged extra or anything. You just take longer to finish your degree, unless you make up for it in summer or by overloading.

i was gonan say the same thing, the only reason darkwolfzx beat me was coz i was studying.

and i think its 18UoC OR greater = full time.

as in, u could be 18uoc and still be full time.

just that u used a > sign instead of >=18, dunno, mabe im wrong.

but im pretty sure that 18uoc onwards means full time.

agree here. thats just pointless. highlighting is only good if done sparingly.

Not highlighting leaves your textbooks pristine makes them more valuable for selling.
The last time I highlighted a textbook was a school textbook because they weren't mine and need to be returned.
