yet another insightful piece of analysis from lauchlan

the greens are chardonnay socialists mate they have nothing to do with the 'working class'
I have to admit you're right about of a lot of them there. I've been working on the greens state campaign for western Sydney and it's incredible the difference between the campaign in Cabramatta and the one in Vaucluse. Particularly the young volunteers are completely disinterested in spending a few hours in the multicultural hub, the lower socio-economic areas, the people these children pledge to share concern for. More volunteers who live in Cabramatta are volunteering in Vaucluse then are in their own electorate. Meanwhile Dai Le and her band of supposed Liberals are absolutely everywhere spreading the word about closing the gap and public transport.

There are some remarkable men and women in the Greens, erudite professionals who could be smashing it in Bondi but have stayed true to the social democratic principles the party professes to hold and they're the reason I still turn up to those bloody meetings. And the candidates themselves tend to be of these mould but the so called supporters are just nauseating.

On a sidepoint, why have some of you still not blocked that twit existential?

yes mate

most greens supporters are more than happy to advocate multiculturalism from their cushy suburban surroundings but, as you say, they will avoid somewhere like cabramatta because it is a 'bad neighbourhood'

everybody i know who supports the greens is white and middle/upper class

to be honest, the greens' calls for a more humane refugee/migrant/etc policy are still based on a claim to legitimacy driven by white ethno-nationalism and social standing, to at least as great an extent as the policies put forward by the liberals and/or labor

which makes the greens' repeated attempts to claim the moral high ground all the more difficult to understand

"The greens" are not as you describe them. Most who actually dedicated the time of day are far better. I'm referring to voters or people who turn out once every three years to hand out a flyer and think that absolves them of all their middle class guilt. All in all they are still head and shoulders above labor and liberal voters when it comes to the question of morals and conscience, but they can be very annoying to spend time with. I don't know I agree with the "white" assertion though, actually it's bullshit.
