something i've always wondered about. JCU is recommended a lot because it doesn't look at UMAT, but i've never actually met anyone from there studying medicine/dentistry. is it actually really hard to get in there? i assume there would be many more applicants than other universities because they don't look at UMAT?

most people who are committed to med would know about the UMAT and sit it. JCU is for people who didnt do well on the umat or decide on med at the last minute. the reason you dont know anyone studying there is because they only tend to accept rural students from the northern queensland area. so unless you know someone from that area, it is unlikely you will know of anyone studying at JCU.

I know of one guy in first year. People who study med seem to know more people in JCU then everyone else because of the conventions like AMSA and stuff that are held.
"there's always JCU" --> I pretty much said that all year haha.
