Do you think that it is a good idea if I don't write up my own notes for Physics,Chemistry and Biology but instead use the ones on the resources section? I have separate notes for each of them but these summarise the text book and don't follow the dot points. Having notes based on the dot points is a good idea but I just can't find the time to do it.

Writing them up is part of the learning...Plus you can structure them to suit your needs.

Obviously get like 2-3 peoples notes on the same topic, then just get the best bits from each one for your own copy because sometimes the notes are wrong (not really wrong, just don't address the dot point correctly) or go into different amounts of detail.

part of writing notes is going through content and making sure you understand it. so if you come across a dot point you cant do, you cant make notes about it, so you have to go and learn the dot point.

this is what helps you when making notes. so if you dont make notes you still need to go through the notes and compare them to the dot points to make sure everything is covered and that you understand everything in the notes

I have notes but they're not structured on the dot points. They summarise the text. I'm pretty sure that they include all the outcomes but they aren't organised in the 'appropriate dot point manner'.

the best way is to have dot point summarised notes, especially in the sciences, as they can only ask questions directly from the syllabus. and to do these notes yourself. you've only had one term of y11 right? you have another two weeks of holidays, it doesn't take that long. it took me a few days with multiple breaks to summarize half of the hsc course, handwriting it, and it takes me ages to handwrite stuff.

I think notes is more about learning and corroborating Information.

I left my legal studies textbook in my locker, so for my notes these hols I'll use some of the worksheets I was given in class, plus a study guide and the resuources section.

My teachers say that online resources from anywhere are to heighten understanding, not your sole source of notes.

If you have seperate notes that summarise the text and cover all the dot points, but just in inappropriate format, why not just learn it, and type it up according to the syllabus? Because the longest thing about making notes isnt typing, but rather knowing the info.

It will take you a hour max to make the notes, if you know the content.

Okay, you guys win. I'll make my own notes.

P.S. Should I make notes for the practical activity based dot points? The ones on the side of the syllabus that say student do etc, etc.

Generally, people don't...but some like to include them in their main notes as examples, or do a practical write up for any pracs.

i wrote my own, and by the end of writing them i knew them off by heart, and only had to read them a couple of times in the days before the trial and hsc exams to clarify things

but yer its best to write your own notes, you can use others from the resource section as a guide and a source if you are having trouble with a few dot points

it doesnt take too long to summarise the whole course but yer it really also depends on your learning style, what i did worked for me and might not work for you, you might find it easier to learn from just reading other people notes

or just doing past questions
