HSC another challenge for Ame
By COURTNEY TRENWITH
October 21, 2006
WHILE more than 66,000 students are using their fingers to write their HSC exams this month, Ame Barnbrook is relying on her toes.
The 18-year-old was born with no arms and only half a leg, including part of a knee and three toes.
She uses her toes to do everything from writing and typing to controlling her wheelchair.
She even played the trumpet for her HSC music practical exam.
The Narooma High School student, who has phocoamelia, sat the HSC exams in English and music yesterday.
