Awesome music 1 test :D
Me and my friend always hope for a jazz song for Q4 (we are jazz freaks :p) - when that came up in Q4 a hi five was called for, but silly exam rules ruined the moment XD.
I was hoping for a duration question - got it, although I would of prefered better pieces to talk about duration, was alright though.
Different than previous years, wrote heaps. I'm happy

i have 2 questions, and im really hoping someone in this thread can answer them
the first is. im expecting a high band 4 / low bnad 5 as a RAW mark, what is that likely to sclae up to
and the second question is, ive applied for a bachelor of music at UNSW, does ne1 know if they have atar requirements (and if yes, what are they) plus, can someone please tell me what is likely to be in the theory exam

thankyou :)

I thought about writing kazoo, but a little ounce of intuition told me that 12-century music would probably not be arranged with a kazoo part XD

I thought the string instrument was a lute but who knows??? I thought that was the hardest question on the test.

For the last one, once I realised I had to write and not just listen to the awesome song, I talked about pitch as well. I thought there was a lot talk to about in terms of the modulation from minor to major in the chorus and the wide range across the instrumentation.

yeah im of same mind. question one was dumb, and i considered lute and kazoo- came to same conclusion regarding kazoo- and then decided on a "nasal stringed instrument!" wtf.
and omg yes! i was jiving away to myself going NO! you must write now! hahahah. same with the mika one. singing to myself =D

The Music 1 Aural Exam was okay. I agree, question 1(a) was tricky, didn't know any of the instruments. But other than that it was fine. I picked dynamics for question 4.

Structure would have been the perfect concept to talk about. I wish I did that.

It was by Kenny Ball and the Jazzmen.

I know that because I own the DVD that extract was taken from.
