So basically, if you look at my marks throughout year 11, you'd be going "What is wrong with this kid" I'll tell you why. In my assignments, i do EXTREMELY well, i mean whenever i do an assignment, i am top of the class. For example, today in IPT, i got my assignment back, i got 100%. Simarlarily, in business studies throughout year 11...95%, 98% etc, now here is the problem.

Exams.

It's because i don't study
, that i do terrible (Not teribble, but not GREAT), i'd say high 60's - mid 70's. That isn't very good at all, but i do know, that i can improve if i ACTUALLY STUDY. This, i find is my only weakness at the moment, and it's quite a big one, cause i can't always fall back on my high assignment marks to keep my afloat.

Can any of you offer an advice, or tips, that you have used and have worked for you to achieve a high exam mark. Any strategies you use? Any help is appreciated :) Please don't just say "Study", because i will. I just need a little help on some effective tips.

:)

Type up notes and read over them.
Read over all the work you did during the day.
Do your homework.

How soon do you guys plan on starting study? Are you starting now? Even though it's only been 2 days into year 12?

getting in a study habit straight away tend to be hard so i advise you to make your weekly schedule for what time you study, break, hw etc.

A few tips from me:

- writing out summaries...you're revisiting the information yet putting it into your own words, and usually condensing it!

- making a study timetable, and attempting to stick to it as much as possible.

- taking on the advice of students gone before and trialling their ideas...reading mags like 'HSC Experience' and the Sydney Morning Herald's 'HSC official study guide' and absolute resources for me!

- buddystudy...bouncing ideas off a friend or two and sharing brains.

- asking the teachers: if you need something explained again, just ask them! And if they refuse to explain it again, well, they're jerks...there is possible other strong terminology I could use!

- and most importantly, USE THE SYLLABUS!! my life saviour when it comes to revising!! Make notes under the headings in the syllabus and if you go through your notes and realise there's something you're class has missed, bring it up with your teacher before it's too late and too close to exam time. :)

Hope this all helps! :)
