Whats the reason for why the burette and pipette is to be washed with both distilled and the chemical it has to contain whilst the other glassware (volumetric flask, conical flask .etc . ) are just washed with distilled water and should it be dry or can the glassware be left wet ?

The biurette and pipette can't just be washed with water because a thin film of water will remain on it, which would change the concentration of either the unknown or the known. Either way this is a problem. As for the others, the concentration won't be changed so it doesn't matter if some water stays in it.

I wouldn't be washing the burette or the pipette with distilled water and then the solutions you're using because that will cause the concentration of those solutions to decrease, which may then lead to small errors. These small errors however can become quite significant if you are dealing with solutions with small concentrations.

Washing the conical/volumetric flask with distilled water is acceptable because it doesn't affect THE NUMBER OF MOLES (not the concentration, as the last poster said) of the chemical in solution.

This , however washing the pipette/burette with distilled water THEN the solution they will be filled with is acceptable (and the way i learnt it).
