To those who do/did Maths Extension 2, how does the difficulty of MX2 compare to other state's equivalent? (1 Viewer)

It seems the questions in extension 2 are so trivial compared to the question other states get. We basically get competition style questions

trivial as in useless competition style questions. vce gets application questions while all we get are proofs upon proofs. it's still better than the old syllabus but still worse than vce and elsewhere

well from glancing at these tests they follow the nesa syllabus closely. some questions appear to be more mx1, and i dont see any crazy questions like you get in question 15 or 16 of the hsc. thats not to say these tests are easy you'd still need to know your stuff but they just dont go as far beyond the syllabus as nesa does

it just makes it unfair for nsw. specialist maths scales the same as extension 2, yet is significantly easier

but like... short of national standardisation, there's always going to be differences between courses...
