With regard to physics, I was contemplating doing tutoring for Yr12. I have not done tutoring since Yr6 for selective...which didn't really work anyway.

My physics motivation levels haven't been so high, but now I have decided to drop Eco, I know I will have more motivation for it for the HSC. However, the teacher is not amazing, and people in the year above who have him say you should self-study to supplement the class.

I was wondering whether it would be useful to go to a tutoring college, like Matrix etc. or even a private tutor, to ensure a band 6 for physics.

Thanks

Personally, I would go if it would give you a sense of security. Hence motivating you in a relaxed environment.

Nothing is going to ensure a band 6 in physics but yourself. Tutoring is only effective if your willing to put in the work. Which type of tutor you use (private, tutoring college) is up to you really. I tried both and found private one on one tutoring to be best for me as going to the tutoring colleges felt like just another few hours at school, whereas my private tutors helped me address the specific issues which I was struggling with.

You're going to need to find the motivation to do physics yourself. A tutor can help but it is not guaranteed & it is better for you to rely on yourself. On the other hand going tutoring could give you a great advantage in the HSC. You've also got to as yourself, "Is it worth the money?".

I had tutoring in year 10 and i hated it, but that's because i'm stubborn and don't like being helped.

So tutoring is great if you're willing to do it and have a good tutor,

Also consider if you'd want a group tutoring session or a one on one

If you decide to have a Physics tutor, check out school teacher Fizzy-Cyst. Check Tutoring section.
