Senator Boyce will also cross the floor.

Both Boyce and Troeth have spoke strongly in favour of nuclear.
I'm assuming Boyce is Banarby Joyce.....

Nuclear is possibly the best thing that could happen in this country, A properly set up reactor operating under normal conditions should have problems once every 5,000,000 odd yrs (source is some random vid we watched in physics). Nuclear power just suffers from the chenoble stigma, and they were doing tests

With 2 Coalition senators crossing the floor, the Greens are now essentially responsible for the defeat of the CPRS.
The defeat of a weak CPRS that was diluted further by the ex-Liberal leader - of course the Greens aren't going to vote for it. It would cause economic disruption for no environmental gain. They've been clear and transparent on that point for a long time - the government ignored their proposed amendments because it thought it could get enough Liberal senators to vote for it. Labour's mistake.

The liberals have next to no chance of winning the next election, really. Abbott will be the fall guy. If Hockey took leadership now, he'd lose next election, then within the opposition there'd probably be another leadership spill. Hockey's a better asset than Abbott to the liberals.
Oh right.
Thought he was hating on Hockey for no apparent reason.

Which is all true and may well mean that blocking the cprs was the right thing to do but he never disputed that merely that the greens were now responsible.

rudd is dumb, should haved used DD for election and wiped liberals out. fuck a third attempt
What's to say he won't use it? The DD trigger can be used at any time until next August. He's hardly going to call an election with a campaign period over the holidays.

The constitution states that the pm can request the governor general to dissolve both houses of parliament if a bill which is passed by the house of reps fails to pass in the senate, thereby resulting in an election for both houses

If he calls the DD election before 1 July 2010, the Senate will only be allowed to sit for two years, meaning he'll have to hold a half senate election in 2010 without a house of reps election, or hold both meaning he'd confine his second term to two years.

If he calls the DD between 1 July 2010 and 10 August 2010 (6 Months before his current term ends), the newly elected senators will be able to serve three years.

s12 and s17 of the Constitution, IIRC

In the days since the ballot, speculation as to the nature of Ms Bishop's vote has been rife in the party; she has said publicly that she voted for Mr Turnbull in both spills, but Mr Turnbull is said to have told other MPs that he glimpsed her writing Mr Abbott's name on her paper.

I personally believe we should extend the Act of settlement 1701 to the post of Prime Minister to prevent this catholic Monk from ruining this country :(

Fitting username.

Hey, so apparently the current King of Norway is the 63rd person in the line of succession for the British crown.
Now if only we could assasinate the 62 above him, Norway would finally be able to rule the galaxy...
