Personally I think "schoolies" (stupid name, what would you expect, it's Australia) should be outlawed and the drinking age should be pushed up to 21.

Why should it be outlawed? Yeah, lets not let Australian kids celebrate the finish of school! Oh yeah, because increasing the legal drinking age has done so much to improve associated social problems in America. OK LETS JUST SMOKE POT INSTEAD.

Because it is most Australian teenagers chance away from their parents with their mates for a week. For the first time you feel a coming of age. Violence is well controlled considering the amount of drunk people are there, i only saw 2 fights, 1 broken up quickly on cavill, the other was 2 chicks going at it outside our balcony one early morning which was a goodlol. NZ is by no means, a country of exemplar importance. In fact, NZ has much to learn from Australia. Oh, and look at Germany. An OECD country, who lets their 16year olds get amongst it, and attend such glorious events such as OCTOBERFESTT
