Re: SMH Top 50

How does Hornsby go from second in one list to eleventh in another?

Re: SMH Top 50

Well, the SMH list works on how many DA's in that school no matter how many people is in that year.

While the Telegraph list calculates it, but using the percentage of DA's gained of the whole year. So I think the Telegraph might be more accurate.

Thanks. :p Good to hear that someone finds it useful after I wasted 10 minutes on it. LOL.

I was going to post the Telegraph one, but then I thought, 200 schools, no way.

Ah, thank you. Makes sense, too, since Hornsby only has 120 students in every grade.

hmm am i correct in thinking that the smh has wayyyy more readers than dt? which would mean, the smhs top 50 would be more publicised/acknowledged/well known throughout the wider community?

The telegraph takes into account that schools have different numbers of students, and thus uses percentages rather than plain numbers, making it more accurate.

Hey guys, i dunno if anyone's mentioned this but the telegraph standardises the DA's according to the size of the cohort, therefore making it a more accurate reflection of the quality of the schools results.

I don't think anyone mentioned that yet, thought you should know.

lolz
Umm, yeah I think I said that on the last page...

I thought it would've been obvious by the fact that you pointed this out...then i confirmed it...then dagwoman repeated exactly what was said previously, as if it was stunning information.

Then I once again repeated it, whilst including a 'lolz' at the end...dont you see the humour? It's quite brilliant.
Yeah I realise that now...wasn't reading it properly...
