well, the first thing i tell young people who are with me when i go slightly over the limit is "do as i say, not as i do. and what i say is to not speed".
haha nice, you're on greens?

the thing is, I'm on my reds so if i speed in between 1-20km/hr i get the same consequences

3 months suspension.

So if I'm going to go over 1km/hr I might as well go over 20km/hr

awesome, but the thing is, can they put the new rules on us? It's like well since I got my licence before that date, it's pretty stupid to say that you can't take passengers after 11pm. Does it have to be printed on the back?

if it isnt written on your license then it doesnt apply to you, unless it is something made universal (ie 0 BAC limit).

i think they were talking about making it for green platers too, so that would probably include us.

neither have I.

I've already

a) sped (well I was late for work, so I have an excuse), the others were late at night.
b) talked on a mobile phone (I couldn't find a place to pull over at that time)

saying that I usually stick to the speed limit if it's in the day and if I'm not overtaking someone. I *had* to be at work on time otherwise they deduct my pay lol. :-/

What's wrong with chatting while you drive? I've done it many a time.

Yeah.. I only talk on the phone for directions tho.. I call someone, put it on loudspeaker, then put it on my lap

I'm pretty sure most of us have sped and/or talked on the phone at least once in our driving lives..

oh i've never used loudspeaker
might try though.

right hand: phone left hand drive

or if manual

left hand phone/gear change
right hand steering wheel lol.

but yeah i use the phone while driving only when I NEED to.
dangerous lol. Especially smsing. It's not safe to do so even if you've stopped at the traffic light.

youre wierd...

i hold the phone in my right hand (less obvious from behind) and steer/change gears with my left. yes, i wouldnt be touching the steering wheel for a second or so, but i wouldnt need to. the joy of aligned/balanced wheels...
