TO be honest, 140km/h (according to the speedo rather than 'true' speed) is very easy to hit if you were already cruising at 120km/h and put your foot down for a very short period of time.

yeah I have done 140 on numerous occasions on the motorway, overtaking trucks and what not. I'd say I do it semi-regularly even, but only for short periods of time. I would drive that speed the entire time were it legal.

I'd imagine some larger capacity cars may even become more fuel efficient at higher speeds (obviously not during the overtaking).

That being said my fuel consumption live graph jumps off the scale when I accelerate... that's no fun.

the term speeding is fairly arbitrary though i mean its my job to make speed limits and roads and there are a lot of roads out there that are designed for 160km/h+ speeds. So doign 130 on them would be fine but it is also speeding excessively even though the speed can be done with ease. There are also a lot of 100 roads that have sections where the design speed is like 50 lol we call these blackspots. But yeah in general its pretty stupid but whatever
