hey i found the really psycho course at MQ its a bachelor of business admin (international studies) with a 2002 uai of 99.95 http://www.aces.mq.edu.au/downloads\aces\Undergraduate_Coursework_Handbook.pdf

however in the uac guide of 2006 there's a big N/A for the uai cut-off? would anybody know the selection procedure for that?

ha! it gives an opportunity then for all-rounded people with a decent albeit non-inflated uai against those crazy study people who score 99.95 (and don't try to convince me you can score 99.95+ with a balanced life .. i think )

well that's kind of how the EE2 hsc course is structured anyway in terms of 'independent research' .. hmm history extension too for that matter

ha! i'll just organise my tutes and periods to be early in the morning so i can snag a spot.

99.95 = Not a balanced life.

Anyway, I don't know what's happening with the linked pdf, but if you look at the 2006 UAIs, the entry requirement was 96.10:

that's an EXTREME drop though.. like normally the 99s and 98s stay stable, dropping -/+ 0.5 points max (i.e. law degrees at USYD/UNSW, optometry etc insert other bs degrees which have caneage uai cut-off and so only those people who have no life and study 24/7 can get into the course but as a result get pwned in the real world when they discover that they really needed real experience and a balanced life to land and keep a job)

I think what happened is that the degree was new, so they introduced it with a high UAI to generate hype. Alternatively, they expected a higher demand for it. *shrugs*

but when i went for an open day there were like 3 levels of parking on two sides of the campus?

surely that's enough for all students and staff? unless you have a 4WD

There seems to always be parking somewhere around campus, but it can be a bitch to find at peak times.

Macquarie seems to attract people from low density (and thus undeveloped public transport) areas..
