Hi everyone, im just wondering if its possible to transfer to B Diagnostic Radiography after a year of study in B H? Is it very competitive and what requirements should i need?

Or it will be better to do 3 years B HS and then 2 years master through GEM entry? i just not sure it will be worth it after all the master degree fee is incredibly high :(

does anyone tried it before or i should just stick into my original plan.

I'm in a radiography course of a different state, I got 70% average for 1st year engineering, then transferred. Get that, and you're as good as in. Friends of mine got less than that, and were still accepted. If you can take physics, it'll help you a lot too. Just give it your best shot this year and you should get in. Even if you flunk this year and get crap marks, apply, you still have a fighting chance of being accepted into the course.

Check if the course has an interivew or supplementary information form that you have to submit. Organising for some radiography work experience while you're on holidays now at a local hospital will not only show them that you're interested in the course, but will help give you an insight to what you're getting yourself into.

Remember this: Its an intense course, don't underestimate it, but very rewarding career with plenty of room for specialisation after further studies. If you're someone that's fascinated by anatomy, loves working with people, then this might be for you. Good luck and don't hesitate to ask more questions if you have any.

Just remember it's not just as easy as "transfering". You apply through UAC against all the HSCer's who have applied and other people. They will look at your first year results as part of your entry. So if you want to do this option, buckle down and study harrrrrrrrd.

A BHS is a great general degree to have. Employers are looking for people with generalised backgrounds these days and plus if you end up changing jobs later in life, it gives you more options to get into other areas in the health industry. Radiography is sooo specific that having a general degree may be a good idea.

Also, they are looking at different loan schemes of the GEM plus there are some CSP palces available, so if you work hard it's very possible you'll get one. Plus instead of just a Bach, your coming out with a masters in radiography. You'll also be coming out with two degrees and still be as qualifies as someone who did a b radiography and then a masters.

It also gives you time to make sure that's what you want to do 100%. A lot of people end up changing the area they want to go into with health sciences.
