Did you have to calculate everything using the values given? O___O

I just talked about the formulas P: I^2xR and V=IR ...
I Think that was the point of the question, how are you meant to make an assessment on which model is best if you don't calculate the power loss on each

This is what I got (pretty sure its right but open to challenges).

A loses 20MW, B loses 1.6 MW, C loses 3 MW, therefore in order from best to worst is BCA

Yeah, you must end your response with a short paragraph (judgement) on which is best and which is the worst. Without it, you would get 1/6.
I think the "which is best" is right, not necessarily the worst, since it specifically asked for the best one. The worst would've just been a benefit.

That's what I did, I am sure we will at least get 2 marks

in my response i said something like 'a in comparison to b has a higher current which transmits over the same distance. the power loss is therefore greater - roughly all i mentioned for a'. i then went on to compare B and C, found that B was 1.6 whilst C was 3 and said that B was the best despite C having 0 resistance (needs the coolant power which makes it less efficient).

I just calculated power loss, I think B had teh lowest so I rolled with that.

actually you would lose 1 mark for not evaluating which is the best. You wouldn't get 1/6 for not writing a last concluding statement on which is the best lol

Actually, in the HSC marking schemes, you are capped at 1/6 (usually) for not including a proper judgement.

Q27 HSC 2010, no judgement is maximum of 4/6.
Q22 HSC 2009, no judgement is maximum of 1/5.

It depends partly on your luck but you CAN lose all but 1 mark just because you didn't include a judgement.
