PDHPE 97/100
Physics 86.5/99 grrrr

not saying this just to please you, but discounting maths 3U, those are very very good marks - especially for English and PE. Even your Physics mark is quite above grade average.

Very solid marks mate, especially English, 3U and 4U.

Those marks reflect a 99.90+ potential student. :haha:

(Assuming HSC externals go well - which I believe it will, since you were very clutch for HSC Economics :p - 99.90+ is within your reach)

English, 2U and PE are insanely beast.

That's a pretty good mark for Physics.

3U is an odd and 1 extra unit anyways. Doesn't matter if it won't count~ (it has ridiculous aligning/scaling though... so I wouldn't say it will 100% not count)

Keep it up and you can expect 99.5+ :)

Unfortunate for 3U :(

But, you have plenty to be happy/satisfied about for your other subjects. Especially your non-maths/english subjects~

If I were to compare my own trials results back then and your results (especially considering your school rank), 99+ is definitely there for sure if you keep it up for externals.

''I got 104/105 in English. Why wasn't it 105/105?''

In all srsness, take it step by step. It's still awhile away for you.

Thanks RoT :D Your positivity is so refreshing ahhh :') I hope so haha! And yes LOL I agree Mreditor, assuming externals are like this, can easily expect 99.90 :) I think after that it depends a lot on the day of externals etc haha but hope he gets 99.95, he really does deserve it

^oh wow I'm so nice

and Rumbleroar, I think you did pretty damn well, especially considering the school you go to (doubt you have easy papers). Definitely keep up the solid study and its evident that you'll really ace externals! :D
Will be surprised if you don't get at least 99.00~ You have the ranks for it.

Good luck for externals.

haha thanks a lot guys! :D

personally don't want to get overwhelmed by it, just planning to keep on doing the best I can and then see what atar i end up with. personally, if i get too engrossed in the aim of 99.9+,

a) it will put too much pressure onto me and adversely affect me and my study (besides i only need 97)
b) 99.9 + is actually so competitve and hard, so I don't want to expect it in anyway
c) if i don't get it and was so engrossed it, it will set me up for disappointment and all that.

so aiming to do my best and, if i have to do my best, want 99.5 as a minimum. every atar point above will be more and more great!

but thanks guys, your 'predictions' definitely give me motivation to work harder at it, if you see that potential in me. lol :D

thank you :)

but isn't it still possible to get a great ATAR without rote learning? because I find that I have the worst memory - I prefer to see the patterns in concepts via logic.
First of all, I had terrible memory (certainly nowhere near great memory) but I was still able to commit to rote learning (not saying I didn't need to understand certain concepts though). It's seriously all about the effort you put in.

It's possible.

A person who is great at understanding (in isolation) can get a great ATAR.

A person who is a great rote-learner (in isolation) can get a great ATAR.

And like HPF basically said, a person who is great at both will get a fantastic ATAR.

(okay might be getting off topic here :haha: )

All of my trial marks back.

Standard English: 85/105 (81%)
Business Studies: 88/100 (88%)
General Math: 70/100 (70%)
Information Processes & Technology: 94/100 (94%)
Information and Digital Technology: 71/80 (89%)

All up, some subjects where great and some where quite mediocre. I'm mainly taking this as a learning experience on where to improve and what to work on leading up to externals. 81% in English was really disappointing, so that likely needs the most work followed by Math.
