Of course, entrants can't reveal too much about their stories/scripts and such, but I'd still like to know who I'd be competing against.

I will reveal one thing, it revolves a lot around the theme "Umbrella"

I've got a fairly substantial (+3) potential crew already, and so far, a draft script with about 4 characters.

I'm keeping my production team as small as possible to avoid a) deadshits and b) well..deadshits. So yeah, one other girl who i work with beautifully who will act as well as co-everything with me.
Jase - If you've seen some of the top rating tropfest films you'll notice you don't need to know a thing! Just film something badly and call it an 'artfilm'.

u know u can volunteer to help in the organising on the day of the event- if u can be bothered

but i want to learn more about it all and whats involved before i do anything half arsed

I've made a handball music video, a Matrix parody, and a LotR parody, so far.
24 parody in a month's time.

I went and saw Tropfest last year during O Week and it was awesome! Good luck to anyone making films, I will definately try and be there to watch Tropfest again next year, it was tops!

Yes, the films can be digital, although they must be presented on VHS to the judges.

Make sure your items for submission include the Tropfest SI which is umbrella.

I want to enter Tropfest, but I don't have my own equipment so I will probably have to wait till 2006.

I would probably have a small crew...maybe even just me and actors. And I would definately have them ALL sign a release form! I had an unfortunate incident when I made a video for a conference this year where she was almost about to make me take her out of the video after I had ocmpleted it!
I have composed a release form which I will use in the future (an adaption of oneavailable on the Tropfest site) that they have to sign that says that their performance belongs to me and I can use it whenever and wherever I want.
