I would tell my students things like Trotskyism which continued in Russia despite trotsky's banishment, his writings, the effect he had on Russain people and leaders even if he wasn't in the country. If he wasnt a permanent revolutionary would the russian leaders have tried so hard to eradicate his message and his writings?
Define permanent.
