Hi guys! ^^
I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of any good tuition centres in Sydney? Doing the HSC next year!

I'm interested specifically in any that have online portals, outside tutor features?
If anyone has had experience let me know what functions they offer :)

Thanks

@obliviousninja, what features do their online portals have? I can't seem to find any information on it. :(

@qwert73, I see that they have an app! Very interesting! Do you have more information on their app? :)

Thanks for your responses!

You get given an ipad which contains homework for the week as well as an extensive range of past papers and the notes on the topic which you are studying. Each week you download the new notes onto your ipad along with the homework. You then answer the h/w in a writing booklet which you scan at the place and is then marked and you receive feedback. I know that for year 11 economics which my friend did he emailed his draft essay and they emailed him back with heaps of ways to improve it.
They don't really have an outside tutor app but you can go to a tutorial whenever you like as long as there is room and get help, and the staff are super friendly. I don't really know what you mean by an outside app though, sorry, could you explain some more on what that is?

Delta is meant to be good for english, but it really depends on the subjects you are considering getting tutoring for.

Delta is the best english tuition in Sydney, no doubt about that, but you gotta be a wealthy person to afford it otherwise :(

Hi eyeseeyou,

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts about us :).

However, I'm very sorry to hear about how you feel re: our prices. Please be assured that we do try our very best to keep our fees as low as we can. The major problem with this arises because what we offer and take seriously - 1. Literally the most qualified and sought after teachers in NSW, 2. Ongoing, unlimited, high quality essay marking (by NSW state rankers, no less) throughout the entire year, 3. Comprehensive, pre-analysed and deconstructed course material for each of the texts we teach and 4. A lovely and comfortable place for students to learn - are all very expensive for us to provide.

We don't spend a single cent on advertising; we believe that the maximum amount of every dollar spent by the student should re-invested directly for their benefit via quality teaching and the highly specialised services we offer. Please remember that cost and value are two very different things.

If you're a keen and hard-working student but are having trouble affording our tuition, please get in touch with us. Provided your situation is genuine, money is a very easily sorted issue. If that's the only thing stopping you we'd be more than happy to work something out :)

Hi Delta

Thank you for your kind offer :)

I would love to have that offer but for a variety of reasons, I cannot go to Delta. I'll PM you why

I am glad that you are being honest and your primary goal isn't to make as much profits as possible, which I actually like, as a lots of tuition centres have that one goal and they operate according to that mentality

When you mention, we hire the most qualified teachers in NSW (being a state rank in English Adv), why would you consider them (the state rankers) the most qualified other than that they got one of the best ranks and best HSC results? How are staff selected at Delta? Through a training process or a teaching examination?

Compare a state ranker (english Adv) to a HSC marker with 10 years HSC marking experience. Who would be the better teacher? Other than that the state ranker went through the HSC not long ago and can understand a students side of the story better (and can explain concepts in a way in which students can understand given that they understand where a student is struggling and that they have not graduated too long ago), wouldn't a HSC marker be as good(e.g.a HSC marker would get 100/100 for the HSC and a state ranker would get 98/100) except the fact that they haven't gone through the experience with the student?

Also, I like the fact that you provide unlimited essay marking throughout the entire year. A majority of tutors and school teachers give you that stupid rule and are like: one essay per person per week given that this is a free service. They're not commited enough to their job (BTW they shouldn't bother to be teaching if they have that attitude because if you wanna teach, you have to give up so much time and effort to do something you are truly dedicated to)

The course material is extremely extensive in which I have not seen these techniques used in school. I'm sure you spent most of your time to write therefore you should get lots of credit for it for what it has done to other students.

May I ask Delta but is the centre rented or purchased? I think that tuition centres don't need to have fancy buildings because they have nothing to do with a student's education, as long as it's not dirty and unhygienic like a haunted house or a public toilet and the biding doesn't seem to have some sort of "effect" on the student's education then it's all good.

Also I like the fact that you don't spend any money on advertising, especially when you're already successful and when you overkill with the advertising, then you're just wasting money. I feel that tutoring centres should only advertise within the first 2 years of operation and no more after that.

The essays you mark took at least an hour as you were giving extensive decent feedback. Other tutors and teachers spend only like 20 mins giving you mediocre feedback for a approximately 1000 word essay and I'm sure you've at least spent 1 hours giving over 1000 words of extensive feedback in order to get the best marks in the state.

Like I had said above, I cannot go to Delta for such reasons and would like to thank you Delta for the honest reply and kind offer

Regards,
eyeseeyou
