Yep, the older seasons tend to be the best. The newer ones kinda.. piss me off actually. They just throw in a few famous characters and expect the novelty to be like the old times.. can't blame them though, after how-many-countless seasons, you would tend to run out of ideas eh.

I love the Mary Poppins episode, it's my favourite (actually any send-up of something else is always good). The piss take of the "Stay Awake" song is excellent, just the way it's sung so seriously to such words is greeat. GOLD:

Sherry Bobbins: In front of a tavern,
Flat on his face,
A boozehound named Barney
Is pleading his case.

Barney: Buy me a beer,
Two bucks a glass.
Come on, help me,
I'm freezing my ass.

Buy me brandy,
A snifter of wine.
Who am I kidding?
I'll drink turpentine...

:p

omg..i just realised that they based that episode on the movie Troy. like how they all hid in Flander's caravan instead of a horse. i know, i am really slow and ive never read the book before.

I like the ep that was just on 7.00 - it was the angel one

my fav quote from that is:

Lenny: There's the angel!
Carl: Do you think it flew up here?
Moe: Well it didn't ride up here on no zebra!

hehehe, i love those guys - and 'Mt. Carlmore!'

Mr Burns

I think the quote that best sums up Homer's intellect is
Homer "Hello my name is Mr Burns, I believe you have a package for me"
Postal worker " Ok Mr Burns, what is your first name?"
Homer "I don't know"... followed by Homer leaving the post office and blaming Bart.

Homer: Ned Flanders, I mock your value system. You also appear foolish to the eyes of others.
Ned: Well howdy, Homer!... Ooh, thanks for dropping by!
Dr. Foster: Hmm. He's not responding. Proceed to level 2 antagonism.
Homer: Past instances in which I professed to like you were fraudulent.
Ned: Oh, well, I'll just have to try harder. Heh heh... Ooh! Thanks for dropping by!
Foster: He's still repressing. Maximum hostility factor.
Homer: I engaged in intercourse with your spouse or significant other. Now that's psychiatry! Eh? Eh?
