Hey guys. I heard about this board a couple of weeks ago from my friend and I thought I might check it out. I'm from Smith's Hill High in Wollongong and I have noticed a few people from my school here too which is cool. It's a pretty good board I must admit. Good to see everyone helping each other out in our time of "need" ;)

Anyway here are my results.

1) Subject: Adv English Mark: 72 Rank: 54/118

2) Subject: Ext 1 Maths Mark: 75 Rank: 26/50

3) Subject: Ext 2 Maths Mark: 72 Rank: 18/24

4) Subject: Chemistry Mark: 74 Rank: 25/40

5) Subject: Economics Mark: 74 Rank: 11/20

School Rank in 2002: 40

So what do you think. Is it possible for me to get a UAI of above 90 if I do well in the HSC?

If it is even possible, what marks do I need at least in the HSC for me to get a UAI above 90?

Thanks for any input guys. :)

It is very possible to get a UAI of over 90s if you do well in the HSC. Right now, I'd say your borderline so you'd be somewhere around high 80s to low 90s.

Not very accurate I don't think.
High 80s isn't a very accurate. I guess it could mean somewhere between 85< UAI< 90.
It is hard to get an accurate prediction in this forum.

Ok I just purchased the UAI seeker and I used the standard system. I gave myself an estimated state percentile of 50 in each of my subjects and it gave me a UAI of 91.25

Is this thing really accurate? Cause I'd be pretty happy with a UAI of 91.25 and I think if I do well in the HSC I can get in the 50th percentile in each of my subjects.

Comments...

With percentiles, it should be very accurate.

I can't see you running into too many difficulties being placed at the 50th percentile in each of your courses, either. :) Possibly Extension 2, but I doubt it.

Alright that's sweet.

Yeah I'm not counting my stars to make it in the 50th percentile in Ext 2 Maths cause from what I hear the students that are doing it (mainly from selective schools) are getting much higher than what I am getting. The standard is pretty high, but I'm pretty confident I can get a higher percentile in my other subjects.

I guess I should also be happy the subjects I chose are subjects that scaled pretty well in 2001 and 2002. :)

my friend that attends the same school and studies the same subject as me also wants a prediction.

Adv Eng: high 70s-low80s rank: 18/61
2u Maths: 89% : 5/ 80+
3u Maths: 69% : 6/20
Jap Continuers: 84% : 2/8
Jap Ext: 85% : 2/8
Economics: 69%- 75% : 8/16

dropped: 4u maths: 47%-50% ranked 5/6

and she just dropped maths ext2 recently would you alsobe able to calculate her mark with and without the 4u mark plz.

Somewhere around 90 give or take a few. (Again, hard to tell without School and Exam performance.) Ext2 Mathematics might well have not counted, but who knows? Can't make a judgement on that. :)

hehe if you're in the 91-100% percentile band, it means you're top 10% :D

its where you stand among the state :)
which is where your uai comes in.

i feel like i'm bs-ing. am i? Oo

your marks are what gives you your ranking. and ranking is your lovely uai :D

so if you get a uai of 100... you are number 1 of the state :D :D

so lets say, everyone gets a mark of 50, and you get 51% , you end up with a uai of 100 wowwwww~~~

so lets all pray everyone else is dumber than you muaah
