Not doing the exam, however, will GUARANTEE that you won't become a doctor via the undergrad path.

Why not just not do the HSC while you are at it since you might not get the ATAR you need for the course in uni!!

I advise you to reconsider your decision about taking umat prep courses. I was under the impression that paying these prep courses would extremely benefit me in a way that I was confident enough to smash the exam on the day. However, as I've learnt after the test, UMAT is an exam, no matter how prepared you are, you will go out with grief. But by all means, this varies with different people.

So yeah I'm not telling you to don't take the course, it is your decision.

A question for you Alkanes, would you have done worse if you had not practiced in the course?

This is a very good question. I thought that maybe practising for section 3 helped me a bit, but not substantially as this year's paper was very difficult. But yes to answer your question, prep course did help me to an extent, but for the money I spent, definitely not worth it. Trust me, a person could just guess their way through the whole paper and get higher score than a person who has been preping all their life. It comes down to how you're feeling on the day.
