Rarely. You occassionally may be told to bring them for tutes or something, but even then you can get away without it.

I dont bring a bag since i live on campus.. ;) hehe.. all i bring is a clipboard, a pen and some paper.. if need be i'll bring the textbook to the class but i dont do that too often.. too lazy to carry such a heavy thing.

I haven't seen this thread in aaages...then again nobody else has either. :)

I carry a shoulder bag when I've only got lectures (since all I need is lecture notes and maybe scratchpaper) but if I have a lab I bring a backpack for my coat, specs and other lab stuff.

I carry a laptop to uni, so I have a backpack which looks like a normal backpack, but has a computer pouch in it. Very convenient, though it does get a bit heavy.

i got a caribee for school in 1993. this year i got its replacement. i still use it now and then for light stuff.
