uws hawkesbury? um you will probably have to drive to richmond for food if you don't wanna eat on campus or bring food from home, since its quite literally in the middle of nowhere as far as shops and such are concerned. its only like a five minute drive though.

theres plenty of cheap places to eat in richmond - the marketplace (shopping centre on march st) has a food court with subway, a kebab shop, sandwhich shop, asian place, donut king and gloria jeans plus theres a michels pattisserie, wendys, bakers delight and a cafe on the other side of the centre. plus woolies. other than that theres maccas right next to the station, a really cheap and yummy vietnamese bread shop on the same st, and on windsor st theres a few cafes...um kfc is a bit further up the road...theres aldi near the station...and i think thats about it.

...i don't understand what you're asking. i don't know the specific prices of all those places, but its all fairly standard, ive never been unpleasantly surprised paying for food there.

Theres more then that, theres 2 bakes delights, stir crazy noodles on bosworth and windsor st, Embers wood fired restaurant, macquarie pizza, East court chinese restaurant, star kebabs, cake shops, cafes everywhere, 2 fish and ship shops, aldo's pizza, richmond inn where you can get a steak, salad, chips and a drink for $10, richmond club, etc.

Also alot more in romantic 19thC Windsor if your driving. Inc the worlds first horse drawn restaurant. (But yeah not exactly a cheap eat).

I'd expect more guides for quick easy eats made at home... since they are the cheapest :) (seriously, I wouldnt call $9 a cheap meal for a uni student)

Mamaduke's @ Newey Uni (Callaghan campus, can't spell it lol) does yummo coffee and bruchetta.
Gloria Jeans is crap, they should all be replaced with Starbucks :)
and I've heard Bar on the Hill is alright, can any current Newey Uni kids confirm this?

No, it's not. Pretty average actually.

Mama's is pretty good, they cook up some quality pizzas.

Bar on the Hill is cheap and nasty and often has a very repetitive menu - so at least you can say it's reliable.

It's the only non renovated area of the university now - got a laid back atmosphere - with big screens so you can watch teevee, bands playing at around midday and trivia comps. The pasta is oily but you will continue to buy it over and over again for some strange reason and the chips taste like cardboard.

Foccacias however, go down well.

Mamadukes is well pricey and nowhere near as good as it was as it was before renovation (too commercialised now). But it is quiet and they have some sort of video games from memory and good coffee. A quiet place to take a book to or chat with friends over coffee.

unsw students

-the arcade at matthews has a cheap asian fast food place where you can stuff yourself for cheap. e.g. cheap spring rolls that cost about 2 dollars or even beef noodle soup for about 7 dollars, but your better off getting it at pavillion.

- the best food court on campus would be from the quad food court, get the pasta, cheap and easy, its like 6 dollars for a decent portion.

or you can get bacon and egg muffins, selling all day from the quad coffee place in the food court.

-maccas - next to the uni and you can get free meal upgrades when you show them your student card.

-walk a lil further to the first bar and theres 6 dollar steaks.

-blockhouse: at coffee republic, get the toasted sandwiches
